Dr Kim Root & Soul

Dr Kim is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practice that sees clients at two locations: Root & Soul in La Mesa and Sollua in San Diego's Clairemont area. Booking and questions go through the phone line or the email address listed on the practice's site.

The practice covers a wide range of concerns. Reproductive care includes fertility support, prenatal care through all trimesters, and postpartum care that can be delivered in clinic or at home. Hormonal care covers menstrual cycle regulation and support through perimenopause. Other areas include digestive health, pain relief, and help with stress, anxiety, mental fatigue and insomnia. For skin and appearance, the practice offers Acu-Facial, which pairs body and facial acupuncture with facial massage, gua sha, cupping, NuFACE microcurrent and Celluma red light therapy, usually across a series of visits. Holistic Microneedling is a collagen induction treatment for fine lines, scars, acne and hair loss, and a scalp option is offered for hair regrowth. Microneedling uses the ReGenèse Swiss Apple Stem Cell Serum, with after-care serums and hydrasols provided as needed. Other offerings include Acu-Reiki, which combines acupuncture with Reiki energy healing, cupping therapy in fire, manual or cupping massage machine forms, and 30-minute herbal consultations where the formula is charged separately. Pediatric herbal tinctures in a set of six can be purchased in clinic or ordered for delivery. The site also offers free downloadable guides on fertility, prenatal and postpartum care, pediatric acupressure points, and an at-home facial care routine. A refund policy is linked from the website.

Treatment plans draw on Traditional Chinese Medicine and combine acupuncture, herbal medicine with dietary therapy, and lifestyle adjustments, with the aim of addressing underlying causes rather than only symptoms.
