Dollhouse Beauty Parlor began in 2016 as Vivian's Beauty Studio, founded by Vivian Phan. Kimberly and Hannah Phan joined in 2017, and the business took its current name. The business says it has performed more than 10,000 services, that it was the first salon in the Seattle area to offer training, and that it has trained students from around the world.

The studio's main work is permanent brows: microblading, a manual tattoo method that builds hair-stroke brows and can fill thin brows, bald spots, brow reconstruction and alopecia-related loss; nano brows, made with a tattoo machine and a fine needle, with optional powdered shading; microshading, which adds machine shading to microblading strokes for more fullness; and ombre powder brows, which use a tattoo-style method with boldness built up gradually. Lip blush adds a natural flush of color and can even out paleness or unevenness. Eyeliner tattoo covers machine-tattooed lash enhancement and winged liner, with anesthetic used to ease discomfort. Listed starting prices include microblading at $550, nano brows at $700, microshading at $600, ombre powder brows at $550 and lip blush at $500. Cosmetic tattoo removal uses a saline solution and may take several sessions to lighten brows; it is not a route for regular tattoo removal. Fixing another artist's work can include reshaping, color correction and usually machine shading, and a consultation may come first.

A first visit is long, so plan time: microblading initial appointments take 2.5 to 3 hours and touch-ups about 1.5 to 2 hours, nano brow initial appointments about 4 hours and touch-ups about 2 hours, and lip blush about 3 hours for both the first session and touch-ups. A deposit is required to secure an appointment and must be paid before booking. It is non-refundable but deducted from the service cost. Cancellations or rescheduling need 48 hours' notice by email, and less notice forfeits the deposit. Cash or electronic payment such as Venmo, Cash App or Zelle is preferred; debit and credit cards are accepted with 10.35% Seattle sales tax added. Clients are asked to come to appointments alone, and microblading is not offered to anyone under 18.

The training academy offers hands-on instruction for students new to permanent makeup as well as people building their own businesses, and ongoing support is available to graduates. Listed courses include advanced all-techniques microblading and combination training taught with all three Phan artists at $4,200; advanced microblading and shading at $2,700, with an optional ombre brow day for $1,500; intensive ombre shading with Vivian Phan at $2,000; and nano needle hair-stroke and shading training with Vivian Phan at $4,500, where one-on-one training can be arranged.
