DERMASPACE
Spa in Seattle, WA
Jody Leon founded the studio in 2009 and brought the iDerm Treatment to the Pacific Northwest. The iDerm process traces to 1937, when German scientist and chemist Dr. Paul Meminger developed it. It uses galvanic current to move vitamin-rich solutions into the skin, a process known in the medical field as iontophoresis. Jody Leon says the studio is often called The Skin Gym, and the business describes itself as the only provider of authentic iDerm north of San Francisco.

The iDerm Facial is the foundation of the menu. It includes cleansing, extractions and a galvanic-current step that delivers a customized solution. Most treatments run about 60 to 90 minutes, longer with add-ons such as dermaplaning or LED. Because the esthetician tailors each session, clients are encouraged to name their concerns at the start. First-time clients are advised to begin with the iDerm Facial. The studio generally does not offer separate consultations; questions are answered during the facial, or by phone or in person when schedules allow. Some medical conditions and implanted devices can rule out iDerm, so clients are asked to check with the studio first.
Specialty treatments include PCA chemical peels, BioRePeel, microneedling and ProCell Microchanneling, each with pre and post care instructions. Chemical peel, microneedling and ProCell clients are asked not to work out after treatment. Most clients can return to work after a facial, though a workout is generally not recommended after the iDerm Facial. Enhancements such as LED light therapy and dermaplaning can be added to most facial services.
Dermaspace works by appointment only and has no walk-in front desk. Reservations require a credit card on file. Cancellations need at least 48 hours' notice and can be made through the link in the booking confirmation, by phone, or by text; cancellations sent by email are not accepted. A late cancellation is charged half the booked service, and a missed appointment is charged the full amount. A monthly membership covers the iDerm Facial, and a package of four facials is priced 10% lower with no expiration date. New clients may be eligible for discounts. The studio does not take health insurance because it is not a dermatology practice. Facials are not offered to anyone under 15. Clients who are 15, 16 or 17 are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Phone calls go to 206-849-6620, texts to 206-202-9068, and email to info@dermaspace.com. Pricing questions are answered by text.
The studio is on the 13th floor of the Medical Dental Building, directly behind the Nordstrom flagship store. Take the elevators on the right from the entrance beside Cherry Street Coffee. The building also houses Optum Health and Verizon. Pacific Place Mall offers self-parking nearby, and metered street parking and pay lots are available downtown.
Keeps skin healthy through steady, consistent care, corrective treatments when they are needed, and a maintenance plan built for each client.
