David Gavin Salon began in 1986 in Manhattan, New York, when David Ramon and Jeffrey Gavin Lyle opened the first location. Lyle had started his hair design career in 1974 at Vidal Sassoon New York, and the two co-founded the salon while working as New York City stylists. The business later grew into Connecticut and Massachusetts. The salon says it has attracted celebrity and high-profile clients since its early years.
