Darling Sugar has served West Seattle since 2009 and describes itself as the neighborhood's premier sugaring studio. The studio welcomes clients of all ages, genders and body types, and says it gives every intimate area the same care, including for trans and nonbinary clients.

Each client gets a fresh single portion of sugar paste that is discarded afterward. Hair is removed in the direction of growth. The studio says sugaring causes less redness than hot wax because the paste does not stick to live skin cells, and that most people find it hurts less than waxing, with discomfort lasting only a moment. Skin may stay pink and tender for a few hours afterward.

Visits run 10am to 7pm, seven days a week. Enter through the side doors on Bradford. Weekday happy hour from 1 to 3pm takes $10 off any bikini sugaring. Clients who book three or more services on the same day get 10% off, and the studio also sells eGift cards in $50, $75, $100 and $150 amounts or a custom amount.

Some preparation applies. Clients using retinols must stop two weeks before sugaring the treated area. Anyone using Accutain must stop six months before any area can be sugared. Leg sugaring needs 9 to 10 days since the last shave, with exfoliation every other day beforehand. Nirvana is booked only with permission from the owner or a staff member.

Hair is removed with sugar paste, one fresh portion per client, applied in the direction of hair growth.
