Dallas Rhinoplasty Center

Dallas Rhinoplasty Center is a rhinoplasty practice in Dallas. Founder C. Spencer Cochran, MD opened it in June 2014, after rhinoplasty surgeon Jack Gunter, MD retired. Surgery covers primary, revision and ethnic rhinoplasty, along with related nasal procedures such as septoplasty, alarplasty, turbinoplasty, nasal fracture repair and nasal reconstruction. Chin implants can be added during the same operation when the surgeon judges it safe. Operations take place at the Texas Institute for Surgery on Greenville Avenue or the UT Southwestern Outpatient Surgery Center on Inwood Road.

Consultations last about an hour and a half. They include photos, a review of medical history, an exam with the surgeon, and a discussion of benefits, risks and likely results. Patients who live outside the Dallas-Fort Worth area can start with an internet consultation. That uses six photos taken in good light against a plain background, plus a questionnaire sent through the website, by email or by mail. Cochran replies by email with a written report, suggestions for a custom approach and a cost estimate. The practice notes that internet consultations are general information and do not create a physician-patient relationship. Post-op visits can be coordinated with a patient's hometown doctor through the practice nurse.

The practice is out of network with every insurance plan, Medicare included, though some insurers may pay toward the part of a rhinoplasty that affects breathing. Surgeon and anesthesia charges must be settled in full four weeks before the operation, while the facility charge is paid directly to the surgery center. Patients can pay in cash, by direct wire, or with checks that have been verified, and the practice takes MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and CareCredit. A caregiver must be present when the patient is discharged and should stay for 24 hours after a primary rhinoplasty or 48 hours after a revision. An overnight stay is required only for a rhinoplasty that includes a rib cartilage graft or for patients classed as high risk. Flying is allowed 48 hours after surgery, easing into exercise can begin after two weeks, and a normal routine can resume after at least three weeks.

Signature Skin, a physician-led med spa, operates inside the center. Its skin care and non-surgical menu includes injectables such as BOTOX Cosmetic, JUVEDERM, JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC, Restylane, RADIESSE and Dysport, along with microdermabrasion, IPL, facials, chemical peels, face and body waxing, lash and brow tinting, and a Platysma BOTOX neck treatment. Most injectables take 20 minutes or less with little recovery time. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous exercise and extended sun or heat for at least 24 hours afterward. Pre- and post-operative skin packages support rhinoplasty patients. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 5:00pm, and Friday, 8:30am to 12:30pm. Pharmaceutical-grade skin care can be bought without an appointment.

Patient safety and individualized planning come first. Ethnic rhinoplasty is designed around each patient's own features, using techniques such as building up the nasal bridge, refining the tip and narrowing the nostril base.
