A new client's first visit is the First Time Curly Cut, a 105-minute appointment. It opens with a consultation about the client's hair goals and concerns, followed by a dry cut done without a comb, a clarifying treatment, hydration, and a styling lesson built around the client's hair. A separate 30-minute maintenance cut is for returning clients who were last cut within the past four months, and it does not include styling.

Color services range from a small add-on to full balayage and include glazes, root touch-ups, highlights, and a service called Curly Pintura. Coloring prices can change depending on how much product a service uses.

Booking is done online, and the online system is where new clients book. Appointments open 30 days ahead, and a waitlist lets clients add themselves and receive a notice when a time opens. Cancellations need 24 hours notice; later cancellations and no-shows are charged half of the service total. The salon asks clients to give their hair about two weeks to settle after a service, and adjustments made after that can be booked as a new appointment.

Hours are limited: Mondays from 10am to 2pm, Tuesdays from 9am to 6pm, Wednesdays from 10am to 4pm, and every other Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Parking is in the lot off Ogden St. that is shared with Lucille's restaurant, and street parking on Ogden St. is usually easier to find than on Evans Ave.

The salon works from dry cutting and styling instruction, so clients leave knowing how to care for their curls at home.
