The owner holds a bachelor's degree in art and design from the University of North Texas and has completed advanced curl education, with courses from The Mona Cut, RëzoCut and RëzoLites, Cut It Kinky, Jayne Matthews, Kara Williams, Leysa Carillo, Evan Joseph, and DevaCut by Lorraine Massey. The studio says most cosmetology training is built around straight, European hair models, which can leave curly clients feeling misunderstood, and it positions its work around that gap.

The studio's philosophy is that curly hair should be shaped and balanced rather than forced into a fixed or controlled style. Every service is customized and worked out collaboratively with the client, and the studio uses several cutting approaches to shape balance, movement, and how the cut lasts. Prices reflect the education, individualized technique, and longer appointment time behind each service.

A curly cut is a dry cut that follows the natural curl pattern, followed by cleansing, conditioning, styling, drying, and a final refining cut. First-time clients and anyone trying a new cutting method typically book up to two hours. The New Client Cut includes personalized product and styling education and simple curl care guidance, and extensive detangling can be added if needed. The studio says most of its clients book two to four times a year.

Color services cover balayage, foils, dimensional color, gray coverage, and express retouches, priced by time and products used. Clients are asked to have a color consultation first, and the studio prefers a prior cut or styling appointment before color so it can assess hair condition. Color is open to all genders and hair textures for clients 18 and up. Fantasy colors are not offered, and those clients are referred elsewhere.

Perms add curl or soft bend to naturally straight hair and require a consultation first. The studio recommends perms only for virgin or very healthy color-treated hair and does not perform them on hair previously lightened with bleach. Bangs are offered on request rather than to everyone, and child cuts are available by request only. Client cards are not kept on file, and cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are invoiced 50% of the service price before rebooking.
