About

Crecer Dallas started as a single chair and has grown into a two-story space for beauty, artistry, botanicals and wellness. The salon opened its first location in the Bishop Arts District, and its owner created it to bring hair, plants, culture and community into one place. It is co-owned by a terrarium designer who keeps the plant collection and makes terrariums in house.

The salon works as a hybrid. An in-house team follows the salon's standard policies for bookings, refunds and services, while a co-op of independent beauty professionals manages its own bookings, policies and pricing. Stylists are grouped into levels based on education and demand. Level 1 stylists have completed a one-year apprenticeship and offer a limited menu at Level 1 pricing. Level 2 stylists have at least two years of experience and are the lower-cost option. Level 3 stylists are more experienced and make suggestions based on hair needs and facial structure. Lead stylists have years or decades of experience and mentor other stylists. Clients can choose a stylist by skill set, experience and budget.

Hours are Tuesday to Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm, and every other Sunday 10am to 6pm. In-house appointments are booked directly through the salon, and returning clients call (972) 863-9288 to rebook. Text START to 972-863-9288 to opt in to appointment messages. A credit card secures every appointment. First-time color clients book a consultation first, which may include a strand test to check whether the look is achievable. The $25 consultation goes toward a non-refundable $100 color deposit, and deposits are only required for color. Cancellations or rescheduling need 48 hours' notice, or 72 hours for color. Late cancellations cost $25 to $100 for non-color services, or 50% of the service cost for color. A no-call, no-show is charged the full service fee and blocks future bookings. Clients and stylists have a 15-minute grace period, and a stylist may decline a late client if it would throw off their schedule. Services are not refunded, but concerns raised within two days are handled with a no-cost adjustment, usually with the original stylist. Guests such as friends and family are not permitted at appointments, and minors may bring one parent or guardian.

The shop sells hair care products and plants. The salon uses natural, clean, plant-based products and botanical hair treatments, and it favors low-toxic, plant-enriched practices. Its advanced product lines combine research with natural ingredients. Clients can ask for a silk press, a smooth, sleek style without chemical straightening, or a Curly Cut for those who wear their curls full-time.

There is a designated parking lot behind the salon on 7th Street, and clients may also park along the street. Overflow parking is available behind Cafe Brazil, about a two-minute walk through Bishop Arts. The back entrance is locked, so clients call the number posted on the door to be let in.

The salon's approach combines instinctive beauty and considered craft with plant-based care, based on the belief that looking after yourself and plant-based treatments are closely connected.

The salon describes its experience as calm and refreshing, with a warm, grounded in-house side and a colorful, high-energy co-op.
