Every booking begins with a consultation covering goals, hair history, how much upkeep a client is comfortable with, budget and daily routine. Pricing follows the time a service takes, the artist's experience level and the work involved, not the number of foils or the technique used. Services are offered the same way regardless of gender.

Color is a major focus. Blonding sessions in face-frame, partial and full formats may be done with classic foiling, teasy lite, foilyage or balayage. Bespoke color sessions are built from a mix of lightening, color melting, root smudging, toning and base shifting, in mini, mid and full lengths. New clients who want gray coverage can book combined sessions that pair coverage with highlights or glosses, blow-dry included. Vivid, extreme blonding and color correction work runs three to six hours and requires an in-person consultation first.

Visits are relaxed. Clients can be offered a snack, seltzer, seasonal tea, a latte or wine during their session, and Wi-Fi, a laptop desk and extra chargers are available for anyone who wants to work. Earplugs are on hand for a quieter appointment. Street parking nearby is free, and a municipal lot behind the salon is recommended for color appointments of two hours or more. The salon is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm; it is closed Sundays, and Mondays are kept for education.

The salon runs a not-for-profit gallery that rotates work from local artists every few months, with free public openings, and it hosts makers' markets, charitable partnerships and vendor nights.
