Cotiye's Cocoon was founded by Comfort T. Oye and has operated through several seasons before moving to its current private home studio in Somerset, NJ. The studio works only on loc maintenance and healthy hair.

Each service is tailored to the individual client, with an emphasis on routines a client can keep up over time. Traditional loc maintenance and microloc re-tightening both include a steamed two-cycle shampoo and conditioning, followed by re-twisting or interlocking for a 4-8 week routine.

New clients must complete a consultation at least three days before their service. Loc extensions are not offered.

Add-ons include deep conditioning, hot oil treatment, scalp detox and loc detox, the last two of which must be booked with a service that includes a shampoo. Loc repairs are an add-on with final cost confirmed at consultation. Excess buildup, new growth or conjoined locs may add an approximate $60 per additional hour or require rescheduling. Clients list desired services and any referral in the booking notes, and same-day services may be accommodated on request depending on availability. The studio is open Monday through Friday and closed on weekends.

Every client receives a plan fitted to their individual hair, built to be kept up over the long haul and to benefit hair across time rather than in a single visit.
