A visit usually starts with a consultation. The first visit includes an examination and a review of medical history with a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and treatment can happen the same day once the patient is cleared. Maryland law requires a licensed medical provider to perform aesthetic medicine consultations before any laser-based treatment begins. Treatment plans are customized around each patient's skin, budget and lifestyle, and pricing is discussed after the consultation. Patients are asked to bring a government-issued photo ID, a medication list, previous treatment notes and a list of medical conditions.
Acne care begins with a skin evaluation covering skin type, acne severity and contributing factors, plus skin imaging. Options include NeoClear by Aerolase Acne Therapy, which the practice describes as a drug-free choice for some people with active acne, personalized compounded prescription treatments, and a medical-grade chemical peel. The laser and device lineup includes the Candela GentleMax Pro, DEKA Motus AY, Candela PicoWay, Candela CO2RE, DEKA Tetra CO2, Candela Nordlys IPL, Aerolase Neo, Vivace radiofrequency microneedling, Candela Exceed microneedling, Quanta Q-Plus C and the Skinwave hydradermabrasion device. The practice says its laser systems are FDA-approved or FDA-cleared and suitable for a range of skin types and tones.
Injectable options include neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau and Daxxify, dermal fillers including Juvederm and Restylane, Kybella, PCDC lipolysis and ezPRF. Skin care lines carried include EltaMD, Environ, ZO Skin Health, SkinCeuticals, SkinBetter and Alastin, and product recommendations follow an in-depth evaluation during a consultation at the Columbia location. Procedures are cosmetic and not covered by insurance, and the practice does not participate with health insurance plans. Payment in full is due at the time of service. Patients can finance treatments through Cherry or PatientFi, with pay-over-time plans and 0% APR options subject to eligibility.
Appointments are by appointment only, and walk-ins are not offered. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm, with the office closed Tuesday and Sunday. Some weekend appointments are available.
