Collective was founded to give independent stylists a foundation for a successful career. Kathy (Debski) Pouleson founded the salon and works there as a stylist alongside a team of independent artists.

Every artist sets their own pricing and uses their own booking platform. To book, clients choose an artist and use that artist's Book Now link on the Artists page. Walk-ins are not accepted.

On arrival, clients head upstairs to the lounge area, where their artist comes to collect them. The salon describes its atmosphere as high end and calls itself the hottest salon in the West Loop.

Specialties across the team include lived-in natural color, custom blonding from bright to soft tones, cutting shaped to each client, and tape-in extensions. One artist also creates natural-looking lash enhancements. The salon also accepts inquiries about brand collaborations.

The salon was set up as a platform for independent stylists, with each artist running their own practice inside it.
