Classy Kids Salon Tinley Park

Co-owners Andria G. and Candra H. established the salon in 2018 as a hair salon exclusively for children. It now operates three Illinois locations and serves clients from ages 3 to 16.

Visits are drop-off only. Parents can wait in the hallway sitting area at the Hyde Park and Tinley Park locations while their child is styled, which gives them a few hours to themselves. Every service includes a shampoo and blow-dry, so children do not need to be washed beforehand. Hair accessories and beads are provided, and the salon says children can make friends with other clients and get creative during the visit.

Booking is done online only, at any hour, and a deposit is required to confirm an appointment. Appointments have a 15-minute grace period at no cost. Clients can reschedule through the Vagaro account at no fee at least 2 hours ahead, and up to 3 months in advance. A missed appointment without notice, or arriving more than 15 minutes late, cancels it and forfeits the deposit. If a client cannot attend, the stylist may offer a same-day squeeze-in depending on the schedule.

The salon says it works with children who are sensitive about hair care or who have special needs. Parents can note specific concerns when booking. A takedown service removes a child's previous style, and the salon also offers parties at the client's location with braids, glitter and hair spray. The salon does not provide hair for crochet styles, and children's hair should be down and detangled from any previous style before the appointment.

The salon says it promotes healthy hair care for young clients and that its team is patient, gentle and trained to make each visit calm and comfortable.
