Chroma Hair Studio

Maria Stathoulis O'Neill founded Chroma Hair Studio in 2013, after nearly a decade working in salons on the North Shore. The salon moved to its current Main Street location in 2015 with an expansion, and it sits on Ell Pond in Melrose.

The salon says it aims to build comfort, trust and community with its clients, and it describes its staff as highly trained, professional and knowledgeable. Services are priced a la carte. Starting prices range from $40 for a clipper cut and $50 for a blowout up to $350 for the Keratin Complex smoothing treatment, with extension pricing set after a consultation. Booking follows a few set policies. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and a card is taken at booking and charged only if an appointment is missed. Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be rescheduled. Color or cut adjustments must be requested by phone within 7 days of the visit. Products are final sale unless defective. Cash, major credit cards and personal checks are accepted, and children under 12 are not allowed in the salon.
