Chez LouLou

Chez LouLou was founded in 2012 by Brigitte Rist after trips through Paris, Florence and London. The luxury, European-style salon says its vision centers on thorough training, a distinctive atmosphere and attentive client care. According to the salon, it was featured twice in Allure Magazine's Best of Beauty as one of the top salons in Metro Detroit.

Hair services include men's, women's and children's cuts, color, highlights, lowlights, balayage, blonding, color correction (including work on previously treated hair), blowouts and keratin treatments. The color team has several Master Colorists who trained at Jacques Dessange in Paris, the Vidal Sassoon Academy and the Goldwell Academy, and team members travel to Europe regularly for training. The salon reports that its stylists have taken part in New York Fashion Week for five consecutive years.

The scalp menu centers on a Japanese head spa treatment on a specialized spa bed, offered in 60-minute and 90-minute sessions in a private room. The 90-minute session includes a complimentary mini-facial. Products used include René Furterer professional hair care. Scalp restoration uses professional-grade products and a specialized applicator tool, and pricing is confirmed at booking. Skin care includes custom facials, facial waxing and body waxing, and clients can combine skin and hair services in one visit. Aesthetic treatments include Jet Cold Plasma, a handheld, needle-free device for skin tightening, and BioRePeel, a 30% TCA chemical peel with amino acids and vitamins; both can be booked as one session or a series.

Permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing are available through Humble Beauty: nano brows, microblading, eyelash enhancement, permanent lip blush, 3D areola tattooing and scar camouflage. A consultation is required before areola tattooing, and new clients booking color or specialty services are also asked to attend one first. Appointments can be made by phone or through the contact form, Tuesday through Saturday. Clients are asked to keep a credit card on file, and a fee may apply to cancellations made within 24 hours of a salon visit or within 48 hours of a permanent makeup visit. Parking is a paid lot, with street parking along Kercheval Avenue.

The salon describes its vision as a luxury, European-style house built on training, atmosphere and client care, with ongoing training trips to Europe for the team.
