Charleston Head Spa

Charleston Head Spa is located on Ashley River Road in Charleston. The salon describes itself as Charleston's premier head spa, and its treatments are Japanese-inspired and centered on scalp health and hair health. Molly founded the business and researched products and techniques to build the head spa experience.

Treatments take place in private suites. The salon has four private suites and two double rooms, and can accommodate up to eight guests at once when planned ahead, or two separate groups of four. Couples' rooms are also available. For groups, champagne can be served on request with advance notice.

The menu includes the Signature Head Spa, a 60-minute service with a scalp analysis, water and steam therapy, a mini facial, massage, deep cleanse and conditioning, which does not include a blowout. The Charleston VIP is a 90-minute visit combining a Signature Head Spa, a facial and a professional blow dry and style. The Coil Care Experience is a 60-minute head spa for natural and textured hair, including locs, and clients are asked to arrive with hair detangled and to note locs when booking. Refresh Head Spa is a 30-minute scalp treatment offered in groups.

Three 60-minute O2 DERM facials are offered, addressing acne, sensitive or compromised skin, and anti-aging concerns. The salon uses Milbon professional haircare and scalp products, and GlyMed Plus skincare, which is cruelty-free. According to the salon, the team includes licensed cosmetologists and estheticians.

Group bookings require calling or emailing the salon so availability and the plan can be checked. Group services are priced per person. The salon is open Monday through Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
