CayMoneiStyles works mainly with locs and braided styles at its suite on Evergreen Parkway in Bowie. Client reviews posted on the salon's site praise the professionalism of the team and its knowledge of locs.
The salon is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with different hours on each day, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Bookings open on the 20th of each month at 10 AM. Clients check in by texting the salon when they arrive and should come with their hair already detangled. Guests are not allowed unless they are being serviced. Shampoo and blow-dry are included with services unless stated otherwise, and any add-on needs to be chosen at booking. The salon does not service clients under 14, freeform, micro or sister locs, blunt cut ends, or freshly trimmed hair.
Payment and timing rules are firm. Deposits are non-refundable and count toward the total. The remaining balance is paid in exact cash or by card, with a 3.5% processing fee on cards, and no change is given for cash. Buy Now, Pay Later is offered for bookings between $50 and $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Clients have a 10-minute grace period, appointments more than 15 minutes late are cancelled, and a $15 late fee applies if the salon is not told about a delay. Cancelling less than 48 hours ahead carries a charge for the full service.
For those starting locs, the salon requires a Starter Loc Consultation before booking Starter Locs, and the two cannot be booked on the same day. The consultation is held by phone or video. Coaching calls are also available as one-on-one video sessions.
Loc care is built around consultations, detox and steam treatments, and scheduled maintenance, with the salon's services grouped around the length of time since a client's last retwist or maintenance visit.
