Catherine Casabianca

CedarHouse Hair Studio opened in 2019 as the first brick-and-mortar salon of Catherine Casabianca, who started working in hair at 17 in Southern California before moving from San Francisco to Seattle. The salon sits beside Climate Pledge Arena and is open Monday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Pricing is by the hour, with no separate gratuity: the time booked is the time paid for. Each appointment time covers the consultation, color mixing, processing, styling, photos, product recommendations and checkout, so the visit is one block from start to finish. Services are not gendered.

Booking is done online by picking a stylist. Cancellations need 48 hours' notice, otherwise 50% of the services booked is charged, and clients who arrive 15 or more minutes late may be asked to rebook for another day. Services are not refundable, though small adjustments such as a gloss or toner can be made if requested within one week; larger changes, such as additional lightening, need a new paid appointment. Retail products can be returned within 30 days of purchase if more than half full. The salon's phone line is text only, with no receptionist answering calls.

Parking includes four-hour spaces in front of the salon and two- and four-hour spaces on nearby blocks. During construction and on arena event days parking is very limited and costs more. Hair care products are also available through an online shop for home delivery.

Hair work is treated as a mix of technical precision and creative style, with a leaning toward beach-inspired, lived-in looks.
