Casa Obra

Casa Obra is a private extension studio run by its owner, Amy, who founded it and works as the extension specialist and colorist. The studio focuses on fine, fragile and low-density hair, and on clients who want more hair that still looks like their own.

Every design starts with a consultation. The studio builds each plan around the client's natural density, texture, movement and day-to-day routine, and selects hair by texture, strand structure, density and movement as well as color and length. All hair is 100% human hair. Pricing depends on length, density and the amount of artistry the design requires, and the exact hair cost and deposit are settled during the design consultation.

The process runs in four steps: consultation, design, installation and finishing. An online form asks about hair history, goals and photos, and the studio follows up within 24 to 48 hours. The consultation fee is credited toward the transformation if the client goes ahead. A new installation at the studio ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 and covers the extensions, installation and design placement, bond creation, custom color and tonal blending, and precision cutting, styling and finishing. To hold an installation date, clients pay a 50% non-refundable retainer, which is applied to the total, with the balance due on the day of service.

Custom color is only offered alongside extension services. Extensions can be curled, straightened and styled like natural hair, and the studio recommends that coloring be done by a professional, ideally the owner. Aftercare guidance covers washing, styling and protecting the hair, and suggests silk pillowcases, gentle brushing and salon-quality products. Maintenance appointments range from $375 to $1,200, depending on method and the amount of hair installed.

The studio also trains stylists. Its offerings include full-day private bonds and wefts training, a half-day designer intensive, an eight-hour mix-and-match designer intensive, a two-day in-person workshop on handmade keratin bonds, and a virtual business mentorship covering pricing, positioning and systems. Applicants go through a five-step process that includes a personal review and a discovery call before training is scheduled.

Each design is built around the client's natural density, texture, movement and lifestyle, with the aim of adding hair without losing what makes the natural hair believable. According to the studio, the goal is extensions that look like the client's own hair.
