The practice has two offices. Fort Mill is at Pleasant Road Business Park, and Mount Pleasant is at Wando Commons. Both are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and both offer free or complimentary parking in front. Consultations are by appointment only and are offered in person, by online video, or by phone. Phone consultations require five photos to be submitted first. The number of grafts needed is set during a complimentary consultation with a physician. The offices are closed on weekends and major holidays.
FUE procedures use local anesthetic, and the site notes that no intravenous or intramuscular sedation is required. Surgery takes one or two days depending on graft count, and procedures over 3,000 grafts are usually done over two days. Follicular units are harvested with a mechanized device using a circular scalpel of 0.9mm or smaller, then each unit is extracted by hand. Grafts are inserted with implanters. The practice says it has performed over 5,000 grafts in a single FUE session. FUE can also be used to camouflage visible linear scars left by earlier strip surgery.
Pricing is per graft at $6.00, with a minimum surgical fee of $6,000 (1,000 grafts). Eyebrow restoration is $3,000 per brow. A non-refundable 10% deposit is due at scheduling to hold a surgery date and is applied to the surgical fee. The remaining balance is due on the day of surgery. Fees are non-refundable. Patients who cancel after paying the scheduling fee may reschedule once within 30 calendar days, with another 10% fee. Those who do not reschedule within 30 days forfeit payments applied to the original date. The practice does not file insurance claims, and Health Savings Accounts do not cover hair restoration. Payment is accepted by check, cash, and major credit cards, and through Cherry payment plans and CareCredit. The site lists a 12-month 0% payment plan and monthly payments as low as $450 for qualified candidates. Financing depends on individual credit history and is optional. The practice promises graft survival of at least 90%, measured at the 6- and 12-month visits included in the surgery fee, and re-grafts any shortfall at no added charge. It states it cannot guarantee 100% graft survival.
Physicians perform the surgery, and surgeons supervise every part of the procedure. Unlicensed technicians do not cut or place grafts, and the physician harvests all FUE grafts. The practice does not offer robotic procedures, citing larger punch sizes and the punctate donor scarring it can cause.
