Michael W. Vories, MD

Michael W. Vories, MD founded Carolina Hair Surgery and has worked as a hair restoration surgeon since 2002. He performs FUE hair transplantation exclusively and carries out every surgical procedure at the practice. He meets patients directly for consultations and oversees all surgery. His patients include men and women experiencing hair loss, and he designs customized transplant plans for women, factoring in each patient's hairstyling preferences. He developed the practice's FUE technique together with his successor, Michael A. Mollo, MD. He is stepping back from daily hair transplant surgery effective November 1, 2026, moving into an advisory role, and will remain available for patient consultations as a consultant. He was selected as one of the Best Hair Transplant Doctors in the World. From 1998 to 2001 he served as a physician for the National Health Service Corps. He graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed his residency there. He served as Past-President of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons, and is an approved member of the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons. He also served on the ISHRS Media Relations Committee.
