CAKES is a hair salon on the East Side of Austin, run by co-owners Andy and Annie. It operates from a converted garage on the property, which the business moved into in 2021. The salon kept the existing CAKES sign.

Before opening the salon together, the two co-owners spent 13 years at a busy, high-volume salon in San Francisco. The salon describes its hair care as the highest quality available.

Services span blowdries, color, highlights, haircuts and extensions. Color work includes all-over tint for grey coverage, and a longer customized color transformation that starts with a consultation and may take several appointments. Highlight appointments include a complimentary blow dry, and customized partial highlights add nape hairline foils. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
