About

Caitlin Boehm | Hair operates from Suite 200 on the second floor at 1005 W 41st Street in Austin. The home page also refers to the space as Golden Hair Studio. The studio is open Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 7:30pm, and bookings are made through an online GlossGenius page.

Color is the core of the work. Classic foil highlights are lifted and toned to a chosen shade of blonde, and brunettes can add a few subtle highlights for a sun-kissed effect. Lived-in color blends light and dark tones for depth and natural contrast, and Lived In/Balayage combines highlights, lowlights and balayage. A gloss is a demi-permanent, translucent color that adds shine and softens or corrects unwanted tones. Root retouches cover gray with custom color, with the mid-lengths and ends glazed in toner.

Services can be paired and timed around how quickly color fades. A haircut can be added to any color service for $65, and a women's cut is $90, whether short or long, trimmed or chopped, blunt or layered. Suggested trim intervals run from every 6-8 weeks to every 10-12 weeks, depending on goals. Color intervals are also suggested: classic highlights every 7-10 weeks, lived-in color every 12-15 weeks, glosses every 6-8 weeks and root retouches every 4-6 weeks.

Pricing starts at $25 for a color consultation, which suits clients new to highlights, clients coming from box dye, and anyone whose hair is darker than medium brown. Partial and full highlights start at $265 and $305 and include a gloss and any treatments needed. A conditioning treatment with blowout is $100 and includes an oil scalp massage, a nourishing wash, deep conditioning and a finished blowout.

Color services come with suggested intervals between visits, so the maintenance plan is set around how each service holds up over time.
