About

Browtiste first launched in New York in 2016, after a long-time client asked for brow service that could be done in her office. Founder Tammy Allan built the business as an on-demand eyebrow service that can come to a client's office or home, and the studio at The Parlor is its home base. For now it serves only the New York City market, with plans to grow.

A visit is booked by appointment, and a card must be on file to book, though payment is taken only at the end of the appointment. Arriving more than 5 minutes late results in a shortened service, and arriving more than 10 minutes late counts as a no-show. Cancellations made at least 6 hours ahead carry no fee; later cancellations or reschedules are charged half the appointment cost, and a no-show is charged the full cost. Tips are not included and can be paid by card, cash or Venmo.

The menu centers on brows: waxing, tweezing, tinting and lamination, along with a wax-and-tint option. Brow waxing is generally recommended about every three to four weeks. Tinting darkens brows by one or two shades and typically lasts about four weeks. Lash tinting and a lash lift, which gives a semi-permanent curl lasting about six to eight weeks and includes a lash tint, round out the lash menu. Facial waxing is also available, and men can book brow services.

Browtiste does not offer threading or sugaring, and its team does not recommend threading because it lacks the precision the studio aims for. Product returns are accepted within seven days of purchase for a refund.

Browtiste treats brow styling as an art and aims to shape each client's brows to their own preference. Its brow services are non-invasive, with no needles or fillers.
