Brows By Lolo is based at Lo Luxe Studios on Franklin Road in Southfield. Every service is booked by appointment. The studio is led by Lolo, a Master Brow Artist, who according to the class page brings nine years of experience as a master esthetician.

The everyday menu covers brow trimming, shaping and styling, plus brow waxing for clients who want their brows kept tidy between visits.

Ombre brows are the studio's cosmetic tattoo service. The result is a soft, filled-in look that resembles makeup. The gradient runs lighter at the front of the brow and deeper toward the tails, which is a different look from hair-stroke microblading. Ombre work is usually done in two sessions, with a touch-up about six to eight weeks after the first one. The business says the color can last up to three years and is waterproof, and it recommends a touch-up every 12 to 18 months. Healed brows typically look about 10 to 30 percent lighter and 10 to 15 percent smaller than the first result. According to the business, most clients rate the discomfort around 3 out of 10, and a topical anesthetic is applied beforehand for comfort. Clients are asked to avoid waxing or threading for 72 hours beforehand, keep water off the brow area for 14 days, skip swimming for a month, and leave makeup and facial products off the brows for at least three weeks. The studio does not guarantee healed results and says extra sessions may be needed. Ombre brows are not recommended for pregnant or nursing clients, or for people with several listed medical conditions or medications.

The studio also teaches a two-day brow lamination and wax class in Southfield, limited to one to four students a day. Day one runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and covers brow waxing, brow lamination and tinting, brow mapping, and business and marketing. Day two is a hands-on session on a model of the student's choice, up to two hours. Lunch and beverages are provided, along with a brow manual, a Brow Master kit of professional products, and a framed certificate of completion. The total class cost is $2,200, with a $250 deposit to sign up and the remaining $1,950 paid in cash on class day.
