Brows by Jo is a small studio on Wilshire Boulevard focused on brows and lashes. Owner Josephine Schrader has worked in brow waxing and lash lifts for over eight years, and the business is built around those two areas.

Brow shaping for any gender starts from $50 and runs about 30 minutes or more. It combines waxing, trimming, tweezing and light fill-in, with four options to choose from. Clients need at least four weeks of growth before a first appointment. Clients using acne medication or vitamin A products are offered tweezing in place of waxing.

Brow lamination with shaping is a three-step treatment starting at $75, taking about 70 minutes or more, with an optional tint. Korean lash lifts with keratin lash tint are $75 and take about 90 minutes, and are not to be repeated within eight weeks. The studio also lists a brow shaping and lash lift pairing at $100, and a brow lamination with lash lift package from $150. Lamination results are said to last at least two months with proper aftercare, and clients should avoid water, steam and sweat for 24 hours afterward.

Lamination is not recommended for clients on Accutane or tretinoin, with eczema, or with extremely coarse brows. Clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised to check with their doctor first. Contact wearers are asked to remove them before lash services.

Appointment changes and cancellations need at least 48 hours notice. Same-day cancellations are charged the full service fee, and clients who no-show or cancel without notice can no longer book online. Extra guests are not allowed. Studio hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on set daytime windows, with Tuesday and Wednesday closed. Gift cards are sold at $50, $75, $100, $200 or a custom amount, and are final sale.

The studio keeps things private and comfortable, and steers clients toward the option that suits their brows or lashes rather than the priciest one. A free patch test is recommended before a first chemical treatment.
