Brown Sugar Skin was created to give people a space to feel confident in their skin, with a focus on melanated skin. The studio was founded by Sheranny after she saw how little education and resources were available to people of color in the beauty industry.

The studio says it treats skin progressively rather than aggressively, putting the health of the skin barrier first. Facials are built around each client's skin and goals, and the studio describes its skincare as results-driven.

Facial menus include The Skin Strategy Session, designed for new clients, which starts with a full skin consultation and ends with a customized hydrating facial, a homecare routine and suggestions for future treatments. The Bespoke Treatment is a custom facial built around a client's skin condition and concerns, and may include exfoliation, extractions, targeted serums and LED therapy. Waxing covers Brazilian waxing for women and other body waxing, including coarse and curly hair. Advanced brow services include brow shaping. Services are offered in Spanish when requested at booking. Free parking is available near the building and on the street, and the space is wheelchair accessible.
