Brambleroots began as a hair studio after a viral video drew interest from people around the world, reaching close to 6 million views. The studio works with locked hair only. Its owner has cared for locks since 2011 and specializes in instant locs, interlocking and permanent extensions. The studio is open every day from 8am to 8pm, and services are by appointment only.

Every visit starts with an in-person consultation, which costs $75 and is required for clients in the St. Louis metro area. Online consultations are not offered. The fee goes toward the service unless the consultation is missed or cancelled late, in which case it is forfeited and cannot be used toward a later appointment. Because demand is high, services are often scheduled four to ten weeks after the consultation and are never on the same day.

Extensions are made in-house and handmade to order, and attachments carry a free six-month reattachment warranty. Third-party extensions and donor loc reattachments are not used. Walk-ins are not accepted, and clients provide card details when booking. Arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time counts as a no-show and may incur a fee.

Beyond the studio, the owner plans to host workshops, mainly for current and aspiring entrepreneurs of color in the beauty industry.

Focused on locked hair alone, with instant locs made by hand with a crochet hook and extensions made in-house. Product and care recommendations draw on the owner's background in chemistry.

The studio aims for a personal, professional setting that feels free from judgment.
