Braidsbyivory

Braidsbyivory is a salon in Arlington, Texas, at 619 W Main Street, Suite A. Its focus is knotless braids, twists, crochet and conrows. The salon says its aim is to help clients look and feel their best.

The price list is long and runs from small add-ons such as tucking of color, beads and curls between braids to large full-length styles. Many prices depend on the style, its size and how long the hair is, so the length of the finished style decides the cost. Examples include four goddess conrows at $90, medium knotless braids to shoulder length at $230, and mini knotless braids to waist length at $700. Freestyle work starts at $140.

Booking involves a few set rules. Many services need a $50 deposit to hold the appointment, and deposits are non-refundable and cannot be transferred. Cancellations or reschedules are due at least 72 hours before the appointment, and a 30% cancellation fee applies. An appointment is canceled if the client arrives 30 minutes late, and a $35 late fee applies at one hour or more late. Style changes also need to be communicated 72 hours ahead, and the booked style is the one performed. Most services ask that hair arrive clean and free of products. Remaining balances on many services are paid in cash only.

Buy Now, Pay Later is offered for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment. It applies only to services starting from $200.

Takedowns of hair done elsewhere are priced by length and size and are not booked on Fridays or Saturdays. A short-hair add-on costs $45, and the hair needs to be at least 5 to 6 inches all around for braiding. Some styles can be bought at the salon, such as Expression hair at $6 a bag, and Cuban twist hair for Marley twists can be found at Kiwi Beauty Supply in Arlington.
