BraidsByChardonnay is a braiding and hair services studio on North 76th Street in Milwaukee. Hair is included in all braiding and loc services, and washing is part of the service. Clients are asked to arrive with hair free of products, and they may wash their hair before coming in if they prefer. Appointments must be booked through the studio's online booking site, and appointments made elsewhere are not accepted. Deposits are required for many styles, usually between $15 and $50 depending on the service, and Buy Now, Pay Later is available for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment.

The studio also runs braiding classes for pre-teens, teens and adults. Sessions cover blow drying, basic braids, feed-ins and knotless braiding, and the instructor supplies the tools. Each class requires a $50 deposit. Gift cards come in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or a custom amount, and gift card sales are final.

The business states that its braids are meant to last a long time. Its site lists 49 reviews, in which clients praise the quality of the work and how long the styles hold. Late arrivals are charged $10 after 10 minutes, $15 after 15 minutes and $20 after 20 minutes. Arriving 30 minutes late without a call means rescheduling and a $25 fee before the next booking. Cancellations within 24 hours, same-day cancellations and no-shows carry a 50% fee. Refunds are not given, so problems with a style should be raised promptly for a fix. Disruptive children may incur a $50 fee, and the stylist may stop a style if a child stays disruptive after a few attempts. Squeeze-in appointments carry an extra $30 fee, depending on the day. Clients who want a style that is not listed can send a photo before the appointment, and the stylist will consider it.

The studio takes time with each style and does not rush appointments. Clients who want a style not on the menu can send a photo ahead of time for consideration.
