Botanica Skin is run by owner and esthetician Laura Muñoz from a studio at 1908 Koenig Lane, inside the Be Well Wellness Co-op. The studio describes its work as individually tailored, holistic and integrative, and combines natural ingredients, intuition and research-backed methods. Treatments take the whole body into account, including diet, sleep and stress, as factors in skin health.
The studio works by appointment only, mostly Tuesday through Friday with occasional Monday and Saturday sessions. Appointments are usually booked four to six weeks ahead, and a cancellation list is kept for earlier openings. New clients complete a form before their first visit. Parking is available in front of and behind the 1908 house, and a larger lot behind the 1906 house is reached by turning onto Camino Real from Koenig.
Facials are customized to skin type and goals, and products are chosen for effectiveness, safety and ethical sourcing, including natural ingredients and advanced formulas. Add-ons such as Hydrofacial, Osmosis Vitamin A Infusion, LED, microcurrent, extractions and several massage styles can be included in facial services. Microchanneling is open to established clients after a consultation, and the studio also offers brow and lash tinting and lifting, de-fuzzing, and a home facial massage tutorial.
Policies include a request for cancellations or reschedules at least 24 hours ahead. Late changes are charged 50 percent of the appointment cost and no-shows are charged in full, though the studio may waive the fee at its discretion. Gratuity is declined. Gift cards and gift certificates for the facials are available online and in person.
Botanica Skin combines natural ingredients, intuition and science-backed research, and considers diet, sleep and stress alongside the skin itself.
