Laura Muñoz

Laura Muñoz runs Botanica Skin, where she also works as an esthetician. Licensed as an esthetician since August 2010, she has over 13 years working with a range of skin conditions across different life stages. Her training started at Avenue Five Institute in Austin, Texas, where she completed a diploma program in esthetics. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Resource and Environmental Studies from Texas State University, graduating with two minors, one in English and one in Horticulture. Her certifications cover Gua Sha Facial Levels 1 and 2 and Gua Sha Facial Fusion from Cecily Braden's Ecology in Motion program, Cecily Braden's Thai Herbal Poultice, ASTECC/Vodder manual lymphatic drainage for the basic neck and face, Nina Connor's Facial Sculpting and Buccal Massage, and Dien Chan Zone Facial Reflexology. She belongs to Associated Skincare Professionals. For teens she recommends the 45-minute facial, with a focus on congestion and acne. Over years of study under several teachers, she developed her own manual massage approach. Her gua sha and stone-based massage is intended to improve blood flow and fluid movement in the tissue. When recommending products, she first assesses the skin and weighs each client's goals and concerns, and she aims to build relationships with clients in a welcoming, non-critical setting.
