Jay and Steve Davis founded Blush on February 14, 2002. It began as a salon with two employees, two styling stations and a makeup counter, and has grown into a full hair, makeup and brow studio. The salon says its aim is to help women look and feel beautiful through personalized services, and it describes itself as having more than 24 years of experience.

About

Every visit begins with an in-depth consultation. Color, chemical and hair extension services include a complimentary consultation that can be booked ahead. For extensions, a written estimate is given at that consultation, and the $50 consultation fee is credited toward a WARE Luxury Extension purchase made within 90 days.

Women's haircuts run from $60 to $120, and men's and pre-teen cuts from $50 to $90, each including a shampoo, conditioning and professional blow-dry or style. Hair care treatments include Follicle Filler for chemically damaged, brittle or weak hair, plus 30-minute detox, pool and well water treatments, which do not include a blow-dry.

Airbrush tanning comes in signature (8 to 12 hour) and rapid (2 to 4 hour) solutions for the face, upper body, lower body or full body. Tans are expected to last five to seven days. Clients are asked not to shower for 10 to 12 hours after a signature tan or 2 to 4 hours after a rapid one, and male clients must wear bottoms during the tan. Waxing uses a warm azulene wax formulated for sensitive skin, and tweezing is also available. Clients using glycolic acid, retinol or acne medication such as Accutane should tell the technician before waxing.

Makeup services include pre-teen, prom and dance, special occasion and bridal makeup, trials, and lessons. Wedding hair, makeup and airbrush tanning for the bridal party are offered in the salon and onsite, including on weekends. Makeup pricing shown is for regular salon hours; special occasion and onsite work are available seven days a week by inquiry. The salon says it has over 20 years of wedding service expertise and offers a corporate guarantee. Salon hours are Monday and Tuesday 9am to 8pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 7pm, and Friday 9am to 5pm, with salon services closed Saturday and Sunday. Bookings can be made by calling 215-321-6186.
