Blooming Rootz is a natural hair studio on the upper floor of a suite at 284 West Millbrook Road in Raleigh. The menu is built around locs: starts, maintenance, retwists, repairs, extensions, removal and reconstruction. Braids, twists, crochet styles and rod or roller sets are also offered.

A free 60-minute visit lets them meet the stylist, ask questions and choose their stylist. A free 50-minute virtual consultation covers hair goals, condition, desired style, maintenance and pricing. For loc reconstruction, a free 30-minute in-person visit includes an assessment and a breakdown of recommended services and prices. Questions can also be sent to Madam Jones through the contact form on the booking site.

Scalp care runs through the menu. Options include steam sessions, an apple cider vinegar and baking soda soak, and a peppermint scalp detox during loc shampoos. According to the business, the steam and soak help reduce dandruff and buildup, and the clove and rosemary steam may support circulation, hair strength and dandruff prevention.

The studio is open Monday 8 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday 8 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday 1:30 PM to 7 PM, and is closed Sunday. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Cancellations or reschedules made at least 24 hours ahead avoid penalties. Later cancellations are charged 75% of the service fee, and missed appointments without notice are charged the full fee. Deposits are non-refundable. Cancelled appointments within 24 hours may be rescheduled once at no extra charge, subject to availability.
