Black Cat Nail Design opened in 2021 as a space to show off artistic nail work while educating clients about the health of their nails. It sits in Indianapolis and is open Wednesday through Friday, 10 am to 7 pm.
The classic gel polish manicure includes cuticle care, shaping and the polish of the client's choice, and lasts about two weeks; previous gel is removed as part of the service. The Luminary soft gel overlay is meant to add strength to natural nails and lasts three to four weeks. It can be filled or soaked off, but it does not include soaking off earlier products. Gel-X extensions add a full-length gel nail over the natural nail, last three to four weeks, and must be soaked off between applications, again without removal of earlier products.
Nail art is booked by time, from 15 to 60 minutes. Shorter sessions cover French, chrome and cat-eye finishes on all nails, or simple art on two to four nails. Longer sessions move into characters and detailed designs, with detailed art over special backgrounds in the 60-minute option.
Permanent makeup services include powder brows, which use a small digital machine to build a soft, shaded makeup effect; permanent eyeliner, which places pigment along the upper lash line; and lip blushing, which enhances natural lip color, shape and definition. A consultation is required before any permanent makeup appointment.
