Before a stylist works through bfab, they go through an in-person vetting process and reference checks focused on safe practice, and team members undergo background checks. The company says it pre-vetts only highly trained hairstylists and makeup artists and that safety is a top priority. Clients upload a photo to their account so providers can verify who they are. Providers bring the tools and products each appointment needs. Clients need a chair near an electrical outlet so the stylist can plug in a dryer.

Bookings open at 7:30am and run seven days a week, with the last appointment at 7pm. Same-day bookings can be made with four hours' notice, or appointments can be scheduled in advance. Early morning and late evening bookings carry an added premium. A 20% gratuity is added automatically to the card on file, and extra tips are optional. Payments and gratuities are settled before the appointment. Because a stylist is matched for each booking, a pending request can take up to 30 minutes to confirm.

The bridal menu includes hair and makeup for the wedding day, bridal party styling, and a trial session to test looks before the wedding. Bridal consultations are free and take place by phone to talk through style, preferences and wedding details. bfab can supply a single stylist or a full bridal beauty team, and on-location bridal hair and makeup covers the bride and the whole bridal party. For San Francisco City Hall weddings there is a dedicated bridal package, with early morning start times available. City Hall requests are sent through an online form with a preferred date and time.

Everyday and event services include blowouts, curls, half updos or braids, updos, and Hollywood waves, along with makeup with or without faux lashes, airbrush makeup starting at $175 for an hour, and a 90-minute makeup lesson that covers techniques and reviews the client's makeup bag. Combined hair and makeup packages are also offered. Gents grooming and groom styling begin with a consultation before any styling. Corporate options include styling for men and photo shoot styling, with hourly and six-hour day rates, and a single-session hair and makeup option. Prices start at the amounts posted at bfabmobile.com/pricing, which the business says may change. Hair extensions cost an additional $30 or more, and lash services are not included in some combined packages.

Cancellations made more than 4 hours ahead are not charged. Cancellations within 1 to 4 hours of the appointment incur a 50% fee, and cancellations under 1 hour incur the full fee. Any booking can be cancelled within 10 minutes of booking at no fee. If a client is late or not ready and the stylist has to change their schedule, a reschedule fee may apply. If the stylist arrives more than 25 minutes late, the client receives a 100% discount on services. Services are for people 18 and older, and parents or guardians can book for children. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
