Halo was founded by Rosemary Camposano, who has long lived in Los Altos. The business now has two locations, at 311 Primrose Road in Burlingame and 168 Main Street in Los Altos. Both are open Monday to Saturday, with Burlingame running 7am to 6pm and Los Altos running 9am to 5pm.

About

The salon says its aim is to give clients a simple, feminine treat and a place to polish their look. It also says it wants to be a working part of the Peninsula communities it serves, and it describes the staff workplace as one with fair pay, manager support, training and room to advance.

Clients can choose The OG, Perfectly Polished or Me, Only Better, which refreshes a style they already have. The Extensions Blowout uses a round-brush technique the salon describes as less damaging to hair, and the salon says it has extensive experience caring for sewn-in extensions, with maintenance from scalp to ends.

Beyond blow outs, the menu includes updos ranging from casual messy buns to formal chignons, half-up and half-down styles, curls and waves, straightened styles, and a Braid Bar offering fishtail, french, dutch, milkmaid, mermaid, three-strand and upside-down braids. Treatments include keratin smoothing, ColorWow Dream Filter for mineral buildup from hard water, Rescue and Repair, deep conditioning and scalp treatments. Halo also runs makeup and bridal services, including parties and bridal preparation in a private room at Burlingame, and offers Halo House Calls.

Clients who visit often can buy a 3-pack or 6-pack series, which is held in their account and can be shared with friends and family. Series holders get a discount on products, and six-pack holders also get a monthly Deep Conditioning add-on. A first-time series offer is available once per person, in store only.

The salon describes its products as industry-leading and its product line-up as unparalleled, and it works with Oribe, René Furterer and Keratin Complex.
