Practical work covers cutting, coloring, styling, shampooing, scalp treatments, relaxing, nail services, facials, extractions, basic makeup, waxing, wig styling and straight razor shaving. Learning is organized into three levels, and assessments include quizzes, practical performance reviews, mock state board exams and instructor evaluations. Business, communication and career topics such as client retention, resume and interview workshops, financial literacy and state regulations are also included.

Clients who book salon services are served by students, and the school says those services are fully supervised. Services include haircuts, color, balayage, highlights, perms, a keratin smoothing treatment and Hair Botox packages, with appointments ranging from about one hour to about two and a half hours.
