Bella Vita Salon was established in 2011 as a co-partnership and is now a sole ownership business owned by Shiloh Steinberger. The salon moved into a new space in May 2023. It states that it was voted best salon in Hays County, and it describes its atmosphere as feeling like home.

The team is made up of independent stylists, each of whom manages their own schedule. Services cover chemical treatments that change hair texture, including keratin smoothing, perms and straightening; several kinds of extensions; custom color built around each client's goals; haircuts for short and long hair; and men's care, including tailored cuts, modern fades, beard trimming and shaping, and waxing.

Visits are by appointment only, and walk-ins are usually not accommodated. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice. A first late cancellation is reviewed individually and is not charged if the time can be filled, while otherwise it may be charged 50%. A no-show is charged 50% of the scheduled service cost, a second no-show is charged the full cost, and clients who no-show more than once are not re-booked. Redo requests are considered when reported within seven days of the service; later requests are charged as a new service.

Each stylist works independently, shaping services around the individual client rather than a fixed menu.
