Beauty By Lishma was founded by Lishma Patel, who has been providing bridal makeup for over 15 years. The studio describes itself as Southern California's premier bridal hair, makeup and henna studio. Most of its clients are in Southern California, and the team has traveled across the United States and abroad when clients ask.

The studio's main focus is South Asian brides who want to handle their whole bridal look in one place. A bridal makeover covers hair, makeup and dressing, and can include bridal henna and other beauty treatments. Dressing includes dupatta setting and saree tying, with draping offered in North Indian, South Indian, Gujarati, Bengali and related styles.

A visit usually starts with a phone consultation, after which a bridal trial is booked in person at the studio. Consultations are by appointment only. The trial lasts one to two hours and covers a single look with hair and airbrush makeup, while the other looks are talked through verbally so the bride can plan the day.

Beyond bridal work, the studio offers hair and makeup for guests and bridal parties on request with advance notice, along with single-event makeovers for engagement shoots, baby showers, bridal showers and other occasions. Its team also does makeup for dance performances and stage shows, including troupe dancers, and works with California-based fashion houses and dance companies on print ads, fashion shows and performances. Henna is offered for bridal henna, Sangeet Nights, Mehndi Nights and henna parties.
