About
Lishma Patel is the MUA-in-Chief and founder of Beauty By Lishma. She began professional bridal henna work at age 18 and has 15 years of experience in bridal hair, makeup and henna. After moving to California in 2001 and graduating from the University of London, she founded the studio. She is an accredited makeup artist and a Licensed Cosmetologist and Makeup Artist.
She specializes in traditional South Asian bridal hair and makeup as well as contemporary evening styles. Her henna is painted freehand, including bride, groom and Ganesh motifs. She has provided hair and makeup for Bollywood VIPs, including Raveena Tandon, and has worked on bridal fashion shows for several South Asian fashion designers.
Her training includes master classes with M.A.C. Cosmetics, Makeup Forever and Cinema Secrets, among others. She also trained with Bollywood makeup artist Mickey Contractor at the Beverly Hills M.A.C. Seminar.
