The business brings together his hair cutting and his makeup work in one New York practice.
Bruce's training started at Vidal Sassoon on Fifth Avenue, where he spent his first ten years in the industry learning and performing wet haircuts. In 1985 John Sahag asked him to help open his first salon on 53rd Street, and the years that followed were spent learning dry cutting. He later went out on his own as a freelancer.
Alongside his own clientele, he has done editorial work for magazines. The site lists clients including Tory Burch, Vera Wang, Louis Vuitton, Thierry Mugler, Fendi, and Betsey Johnson, along with Hamptons Magazine, Quest Magazine, and Latina Magazine.
For clients, the studio's approach is to shape each style to the individual, with up to ninety minutes spent on each hairstyle. Beyond in-person appointments, Bruce offers an online video lesson for anyone who wants to learn the A-line bob cut.
Cuts are done dry, with the hair allowed to fall naturally, and the ends are tapered by hand.
