Beautopia NYC was created by Serena Lin, whose name appears on the about page as the founder. The boutique is set on East 4th Street in Manhattan and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm and Sundays from 10 am to 8 pm.

The menu is built around manicures and gel work. Color is applied with Japanese nontoxic soft gel from brands the salon names as LEAFGEL, KOKOIST and PRESTO. Structured gel overlays and refills are offered in short, medium and long lengths, and Apres Gel-X tip extensions are available in the same lengths.

Nail art is sold as four hand-painted levels, from a simple Level 1 design to a Level 4 detailed piece that takes about two hours. Art is added to a manicure rather than booked on its own. Level 3 and Level 4 designs ask for a reference picture to be sent before the appointment, and those designs can't be downgraded within 24 hours of the visit without an extra charge.

Pedicures are offered as Spa Pedi-Polish and a Spa Pedi-Japanese Nontoxic Gel version, with optional callus treatment and ten-minute rubs. Spa pedicures come in Rose, Lavender, Citrusy and Green Tea scents.

Clients are asked to arrive five to ten minutes early. Arrivals more than 30 minutes late, or 50 percent of the service time, may be canceled and charged the full service price, and changes made within 24 hours also carry a charge for the full price. Gel removal is not included in most gel and extension services and has to be booked as an add-on.

The salon works with nontoxic soft gel and structured gel systems, and offers a waterless manicure for clients who prefer that method.
