Bare Matters is owned by Gina, an esthetician and massage therapist who has worked in skin care and body treatments for 25 years. The business describes itself as a wellness spa and clinic, and says its services are customized and personalized around each client's needs.
The customized facial is built around the skin concerns a client brings in and suits all skin types. It includes deep cleansing, extractions and exfoliation, with more advanced steps such as peels and microdermabrasion added as needed. Each facial also includes a 20-minute face, neck and shoulder massage, a hydrating masque, healing serums and sunblock. Add-ons include microdermabrasion, DermaPlaning, enzyme treatments and resurfacing. Skin analysis is complimentary.
Massage is offered in 60- and 90-minute sessions in Swedish, deep tissue, sports and relaxing styles, or a custom mix of these. Foot, hand, scalp and facial massage and reflexology are also available. Special needs can be discussed before booking. The business also offers advanced treatments for pain relief, circulatory therapy, detox, bodywork and skin care.
A visit begins with an intake sheet for first-time clients, which is returned by email before arrival. Clients are asked to arrive five to ten minutes early. Sessions are followed by a complimentary relaxation lounge with no time limit, and drinking water, instant sanitizer and antibacterial soap are available. Gift certificates can be bought for holidays, birthdays and anniversaries and mailed.
The business states it is certified, licensed and insured. Advanced bodywork and skin care are not a substitute for medical treatment, and estheticians do not diagnose or treat illness or disease. A client review on the about page says the products used are organic.
Gina looks at each client's skin and body concerns and works to bring out what the client already has, with the aim that clients leave feeling refreshed and renewed.
