Bare Beauty Lounge is a solo-run private studio owned by Megan, an esthetician who works with clients of all body types, skin types and hair textures. The studio describes itself as Long Island's favorite waxing studio and calls itself Long Island's go-to Brazilian wax specialist. Its main focus is Brazilian waxing, with bikini, body, facial, arm and leg services also available.

To find the studio, look for the black and white building behind iHop and take the elevator beside Commack Pediatric Dentistry to the third floor. It is less than a quarter mile from the Sunken Meadow State Parkway, exit SM3W, and parking is available at the front and back of the building, reached from Old Indian Head Rd. The waiting area sits just outside the treatment room, and the space feels calm, clean and relaxing.

The Brazilian menu has two versions. The Brazilian wax covers the front of the bikini area, including the labia, plus the strip running toward the rear. The full bikini covers the same front area but skips the rear strip. A bikini line service clears the hair along the underwear line, and the extended Brazilian adds the stomach strip, inner thighs and outer buttocks. Bikini add-ons cost less when booked alongside a bikini service. The Vajacial can only be booked right after a Brazilian or full bikini wax. It includes extraction of ingrown hairs and blackheads, high frequency treatment, and a cooling hydrogel mask containing hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and green tea extract. Steaming, cleansing and exfoliation are not part of it, because the wax has already prepared the skin. Body waxing ranges from stomach strips and underarms up to full legs and full back. Facial waxing ranges from the lip and chin to the full face. Full, upper and lower arm and leg options are also available.

Booking is by appointment only, and walk-ins are not accepted. For same-day availability, clients can text 516-779-3352 rather than call. The studio is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 8pm, Friday from 9am to 4pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm, and is closed Sunday through Tuesday. New clients pay a deposit to book a first appointment, and cancellations need at least 24 hours notice or may be charged half of the scheduled services. No-shows are charged half and cannot book future visits. Services are final sale, and retail products are final sale once opened. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign a consent form, and male clients are accepted only by approved referral. The Vajacial is not recommended during pregnancy, and clients with medical conditions or allergies are asked to get in touch before booking.

Each treatment is tailored to the client, with tools sanitized and wax never double dipped. A skin analysis and product suggestions are part of every visit.
