Banshee + Co. was founded in 2018 by Catrina LaRosa, who had spent years working in the industry before opening the salon. The salon describes itself as a full-service American hairdressing salon, and the team includes stylists at several experience levels as well as trainees learning behind the chairs.

The salon's stated goal is hair that needs little upkeep between appointments. Cuts and color are designed to grow out well, and every service starts with a consultation about the hair, the client's lifestyle, their maintenance goals and the result they want. Stylists offer in-depth consultations free of charge before an appointment, and new color clients meet with a stylist in person before their first color service. Pricing depends on the consultation, and prices can change with hair length and texture.

The salon carries Davines, Innersense, Mane Ivy and Dom Dom products, and says it chooses sustainable products for the environment, hair and health. Davines products are listed for color care, repair, moisture, styling and overall hair health, Mane Ivy for everyday maintenance between visits, Innersense for curls, texture, moisture and definition, and Dom Dom rollers for volume, body and blowouts. Treatments include Cezanne keratin smoothing bundles with a take-home shampoo and conditioner set, priced at $300 for the Express bundle and $400 for the Classic. A Davines botanical treatment can be added to any service for $25, and Malibu C hard water treatment is listed at $10. Amplify extensions are customized after an in-person consultation, and pricing is not listed online. Clip-in extensions supplied by the client can be added for $25 or more.

Lash lift is $95, lash tint is $25 and the two together are $120, performed by Laura Donnelly and Marisa Amato. Lash lifts last 8 to 10 weeks and tints up to 4 weeks, and a patch test is recommended before a first tint. The salon also offers on-site bridal and formal hair, and asks clients to inquire about on-site bridal. Foils and hair painting are booked by phone at 973-310-9755. Select services can be booked online, while other appointments and new clients are asked to call. New clients complete a new client form before a first visit, and a full cancellation policy applies. The salon also looks for hair models for education, new techniques, creative color and content shoots, where services may be complimentary or specially priced. Hours are Tuesday 10 to 2, Wednesday 11 to 8, Thursday 10 to 6, Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 4, and the salon is closed Sunday and Monday. Clients can park for free in the municipal lot off Gould Pl, and the salon is directly across from Cloverleaf Tavern.
