A first visit begins with meeting the doctor, talking through what brought the patient in and taking a full health history. A consultation, examination and diagnostic assessment follow, and the chiropractor explains the findings before care starts. Diagnostic ultrasound may be arranged with a board-certified radiologist when the team believes scans would help the diagnosis. Care plans are tailored and can combine chiropractic adjustments, dry needling, physical therapy, cupping, and exercise or stretching advice. The team aims to begin treatment on the first visit when it can, and how often a patient comes in depends on how severe the problem is. If another specialist may serve a patient better, the team refers them out.
