B. Braided is a braiding business in Southfield that works out of a kid-friendly salon, so families can have children and adults seen in the same place. The focus is on braids and on keeping natural hair healthy. Appointments are booked online through a Glossgenius page.

Some styles, such as hair colors 1b, 2 and 4, include a wash, blow dry and braiding. Other services need extra appointment time for the wash, so clients should plan for a longer visit. Kids are considered to be ages 15 and under. Tender Care is an add-on for children who cry, move more than usual or are very tender-headed, and it carries a $20 fee that is waived if the child is no longer considered Tender Care by the end of the appointment.

Many services ask for a deposit, which is non-refundable, and each deposit allows one reschedule. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice carries a fee of 30 percent of the service, and a no-call, no-show is charged the full service price. A $10 late fee applies after 10 minutes without word about lateness, and appointments are canceled if a client is more than 20 minutes late unless the time is otherwise arranged. The remaining balance can be paid in cash, through Zelle, or through Apple Pay or Cash App, each of the last two with a $2 fee.
