AZ Brows & Skin

AZ Brows & Skin began with brow services and later added skin care. It is founded by Karla Gafni, a licensed esthetician, and it operates from a suite inside Americo's Salon in Scottsdale.

The brow menu starts with threading, where brows are shaped around their natural form after a conversation about the client's preferences. The brow thread service covers threading, tweezing and trimming and takes about 20 minutes. Brow tint is an add-on that uses a custom-blended color, and complimentary brow makeup is included as an add-on with brow threading.

The skin menu includes a Hydrafacial, which takes about 45 minutes and combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration, with lymphatic drainage. A complimentary brow threading or dermaplaning session is included with it. Chemical peels, performed with Linder Health products, target uneven tone and texture; the peel is picked based on the client's skin, treatment history and goals, and about an hour is set aside for the appointment. Microneedling uses fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, and collagen renewal microneedling is offered for collagen production, fine lines and texture.

Several treatments are designed to be spread over time. Hydrafacial maintenance is often scheduled about every four weeks and usually involves little downtime, though temporary redness or sensitivity can occur. A series of chemical peels may be suggested for more noticeable or ongoing concerns, and microneedling results appear over several weeks to months, so a series is often recommended. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is advised after chemical peels.

Booking is by appointment online, and appointment changes or cancellations need 24 to 48 hours' notice. A waitlist is available. Product purchases are not required, and product suggestions are made only when they would help. If a skin concern needs a closer look during a brow visit, a separate skin appointment can be booked. Major credit and debit cards and Zelle are accepted.

Treatments are tailored after an evaluation of each client's skin and concerns, with a pro-aging focus and realistic expectations about what each treatment can do.
